On Friday, 7 October 2005, Christopher M. Wilson, the webmaster of
www.nowthatsfuckedup.com, was arrested by the Polk County, Florida
sheriff in a case that raises serious 1st Amendment concerns. Although
the Polk County Sheriff denies it, one cannot help but suspect that
Wilson was targeted because of his practice of offering free access to
U.S. soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan who post war zone photographs to
the site. Some of the pictures are quite gruesome:

One wonders, will the computer data seized by the Polk County Sheriff be
shared with federal officials seeking to identify servicemembers who
provided photographs? Could his arrest on constitutionally dubious
indecency charges have been a pretext for doing just that?
