But if you're more technically inclined: To join politech,
address your message to "majordomo@politechbot.com" and include in the
body (not the Subject: line) this text:

To unsubscribe from the mailing list, replace "subscribe" with "unsubscribe" in the example above.
If you want to subscribe something other than the account the mail is
coming from, such as a local redistribution list, then append that
address to the "subscribe" command; for example, to subscribe
"local-politech":
subscribe politech local-politech@your.domain.net
Confidential Tips
I treat confidential messages sent to me in confidence, protected by a
reporter's journalistic privilege and the full force of the First
Amendment. To ensure that I recognize your correspondence as
confidential, make sure you put the word "CONFIDENTIAL" in the
Subject: line of your email.
This is no idle guarantee. When the U.S. Department of Justice sent
me a subpoena and a
judge ordered me to testify, I refused to answer
questions about confidential sources, prompting the DOJ prosecutor to
request that I be declared
a hostile witness.
There is an exception to this guarantee of confidentiality. If
someone sends me a direct and credible threat to harm someone's person
or property, I reserve the right to make that email public.
