Politech is the oldest Internet resource devoted to politics and technology. Launched in 1994 by Declan McCullagh, the mailing list has chronicled the growing intersection of culture, technology, politics, and law. Since 2000, so has the Politech web site.
This is a victory for free expression and the rights of journalists to write the truth -- even if it offends thin-skinned bureaucrats who inhabit local police departments. Politech members have written to the city of Key West saying that such a censorial attitude means they'll take their business, charters, and tourist dollars elsewhere. Thanks in part to your correspondence, I suspect, the local officials copied on this message decided to back down.
