Michigan Newspaper: Police Abuse Database Police throughout Michigan, entrusted with the personal and confidential information in a state law enforcement database, have used it to stalk women, threaten motorists and settle scores. Over the past five years, more than 90 Michigan police officers, dispatchers, federal agents and security guards have abused the Law Enforcement Information Network, according to a Detroit Free Press examination of LEIN records and police reports.
