Fox's Bill O'Reilly wants oreilly-sucks.com to cease and desist

[This letter appears legit, based on my conversation with a woman who
identified herself as Ms. Brandi's assistant. Note that O'Reilly is
claiming that his "civil rights" were violated by the existence of the
oreilly-sucks.com site. --Declan]

One of my colleagues pointed this out to me:

The web site does not currently have any apparent appeal for the purchase
of advertising, as described in the demand letter. Whether it had pone at
the time the demand letter was sent, I have no idea.

We at ChillingEffects.org are very interested in hearing from recipients of
cease and desist notices like these, especially to follow trends such as
the recent wave of MLB threats. It's distressing when organizations
confuse fans' appreciation with trademark violations, and we'd like to help
explain the law and document the scope of the community that heavy-handed
enforcement is affecting.

Chilling Effects is a collaboration of law school clinics and the EFF to
support lawful online activity against the chill of unwarranted legal
threats. Our database of notices and notice-input forms are at
<http://www.chillingeffects.org/>.

Thanks!
